A Tonga stool from Zimbabwe, hand carved from a single piece of timber with a low, generously rounded seat and a distinctive openwork base. The angular support creates a strong graphic silhouette, while the aged wood carries varied honey, tobacco and charcoal tones that speak to its hand-worked surface and use over time. Small enough to use as a low side stool or sculptural object, it brings character to a reading corner, beside a lounge chair or on a large coffee table.
