Fish Porcelain Jar with Foo Dog Lid
This is a traditional blue-and-white Chinese ginger jar with a classic rounded body, domed lid, and is particularly lovely with the two small decorative handles on either side. The jar features intricate hand-painted designs, including two stylized fish swimming among water plants and floral motifs. Here the artisan has hand painted the cobalt pigments directly onto the white porcelain body, then cover it with a clear glaze before firing the piece at a high temperature. These petite vases look good as a pair on either side of narrow console or shelf.
