Punu Masks were worn by costume stilt dancers and said to represent the spirit of beautiful young women who returned from the dead to participate in village life. Known for their serene, idealized faces with high foreheads and intricate coiffures, these masks play a significant role in traditional ceremonies and represent ancestral spirits. They are admired for their beauty and are great objet de art.
