These shapely Tonga mortar stools are from Zimbabwe. Each mortar has been used for pounding grain and maize in the community kitchen before being restored and repaired. The wood itself has over time developed an interesting patina. They are unique in design and shape making them a one-of-a-kind piece. They punch above their weight for versatility.
