This footed Naga serving plate, featuring a beautiful patina, originates from North Eastern India near the border of Myanmar. It was used as a communal serving dish within Nagaland, where the unique food culture involves many small side dishes. This raised plate would be placed in the centre of a group, and feasters would take from the shared dish with their hands.
Use this piece as intended for serving at a gathering, or as a simple and striking low side table or plinth.
